我这学期，至少到目前为止，就是过得那么无忧无虑的。只希望这种悠闲的生活不会太快被夺走。

Roulette

Another trip to the city of casinos in the east coast - atlantic city. This time with shinq cuz she's finally 21! Armed with a strategy, we headed to the hilton roulette table and got a pleasant surprise because the minimum bet was only $2. We were all in to lose $300 each for the day based on our strategy. So yeah we lost money, but we lost only a fraction of that. And somehow I felt a sense of accomplishment despite the outcome cuz we've finally proven to ourselves that no matter how we strategized, there's still that element of luck that we can't go against. We could only improve our odds of winning, but the expected outcome according to stats is zero and the probability of us winning the next turn is always slightly less than 0.5.

I doubt I'll be heading to AC again anytime soon without an even more impressive strategy. The only reason why I went back this time was cuz I just needed to test my new strategy out. But hitting 11 numbers of the same kind on the table is purely bad luck heh. And so I lived to tell a story of probability to my future math students haha. :)

We're all back!

Lunch with shinq and sandy, dinner with shinq and guanghao yesterday. Adjusting back to student life seems pretty okay with these meet-ups. And... it's a cause for celebration because all my sg friends in nyu are back on the nyc campus this sem after 1.5 years of people taking turns to go for study abroad! Time to show the freshies our real cohort size muahahaha. :)

And I wish I wasn't back yet...

My news feed is FLOODED with happy family pics posted by my friends and my relatives. How to not be envious right? :S Oh wells... vic says that ssa will have a cny party on feb 2nd, so that should be a good enough compensation!

It still feels so unreal that I am back. I'm still holidaying around so I hope teachers today are holidaying around too. And according to vic, seems like quite a number of chinese people didn't turn up for her french class. I guess that might be the same for my classes too haha. Considering that NYU has loads of ABCs and has the largest international intake from China, maybe they should have considered extending their holiday a wee bit this year. Then everyone will be happy yay!

Nvm 18 days and 14 hours left till happiness! :) I'm glad that there are things to look forward to each month (other than deadlines hurhur).

ASW hits Timbre!

Like what vanessa named her album, 'we eat, we drink, we spam photos..." We drink (alcoholic ones) doesn't apply to all of us though haha. I like choco choco = bailey's with a whole lot of choccie fudge and mixtures. Barely any alcohol taste, and considering that my face didn't turn red, there really isn't much alcohol in it.

Glad I got to meet up with them Thurs night for the last time before I flew off! We're a cool bunch of warriors hahaha. Hope a few of our quarter life crises will be resolved soon... meanwhile mieo and I can relieve our sorrows with our rendition of The Wicked songs haha. :)

Hmm I think I seriously need to make a blog book or something. I think blogger offers that service. My life's perpetually digitally recorded haha. Even though I'm missing the fun part of CNY this year, at least I get to eat a reunion lunch and I get to count a portion of my ang pows earlier! I could have flown back next weekend, but my choice was right to shift the flight till tonight cuz fortunately or unfortunately, I got randomly selected (along with another girl) to do a presentation in class on Tuesday. And I only knew that a few days ago. CNY, we'll meet again in 2014!

过年怎么能少得了“捞起”呢？这星马的传统实在是太独特，太好玩了吧。以前不怎么爱吃鱼生的我不知从何时懂得欣赏这道地美食。XD
